![]() | Iris Kumpula, B. Med. Sc., M. D., F.R.C.P. (C) For over 50 years, I have been a fully qualified physician in the Province of Alberta. Since 1978, I have practised general, adult psychiatry. My training in Clinical Hypnosis started with a course at the Columbia University in New York City (Herbert Spiegel was an outstanding teacher there) in March of 1982. Following this, I had hundreds of hours to utilize hypnosis as an adjunct in treatment at the A.H.E. for those hospitalized for P.T.S.D. and M.P.D. In 1986 at the First National Assembly of the Canadian Societies of Clinical Hypnosis in Vancouver, I presented research findings published with Dr. Flor-Henry of a study of M.P.D. Since 1987, I have been a Member of our Alberta Society of Clinical Hypnosis and have attended many memorable Workshops e.g. Al Scott, George Fraser, Corydon Hammond, Marlene Hunter, Jack & Helen Watkins, Leora Kuttner, and Dabney Ewen, to name a few. I am grateful for the society offering the opportunity for fellowship, lasting friendships and outstanding memories, eg. at the 4th National Assembly, Frontiers of Hypnosis (May 4-9, 1995 at the Banff Centre) and the 6th National Assembly in Halifax, N.S. (Oct.9-12, 2002). Do not hesitate to join, you will learn so many practical, useful therapy techniques! |
